2010 PMA Events Featured Point and Shoot Sony Underwater Videos

Sony Cybershot TX5 & HX5V Digital Cameras VideoSony had one of the busier and more interesting booths at PMA this year. Not only did they make the biggest announcement of the show (see Sony Compact Alpha Announcement), they also had some new and exciting compact Cybershot cameras, two of which we’re featuring here in videos from the Sony booth. The Sony Cybershot TX5 is their first waterproof and shockproof camera and the Cybershot HX5V is a really sweet-looking pocket superzoom with a 10-megapixel CMOS sensor and built-in GPS tagging. Watch the videos for a quick overview of each camera.

My first P&S camera was a Cybershot and I loved that camera. I handed it down to my daughter replacing it for a Oly 1030 because it is waterproof. The pictures were not as sharp or saturated with 1030. The 1030 did have panorama which I enjoy. Now it looks like the Cybershot has waterproofing and panorama.
I will be checking the Sony TX5 out.

Thank you PJ for the two videos on the new Sony cameras I learned alot.

Hey Bob! Happy to read that you enjoyed and learned from the videos. We don’t have a lot of time or resources to make them and sometimes I wonder how much people like them. So it’s good to hear from you. As for the Sony TX5 vs the Olympus 1030 SW – I have been using the 1030 SW since it came out and it’s been great. But I agree that it gives something up in terms of image quality. We’ll see if the Sony is any better. And there’s also a couple of new generations of Olympus waterproof cameras since the 1030. I am waiting for FedEX to deliver an Olympus Stylus Tough-8010 right now :-)

Please write a review for your Olympsu Stylus 1030 SW! We need more reviews for those cameras: http://www.photographyreview.com/mfr/olympus/8-10-megapixel/PRD_411732_6446crx.aspx

Thanks for commenting and thanks in advance for your review :-)

Like the trip pictures John. Travel pics, in my humbled opinion, are the very best. Unable to travel now I live vicariously through others. How’d you like the Sony? Seems like the image quality is better then the olympus 1030.
