What Sony and dealers like not to tell to you before you buy it:( HDR CX-150)
There is no independent battery charger-it is build in the camcorder.
If you try to play it using most DVD players the camcorder memory will be erased-manual says.
    Congratulation for purchasing this instrument!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. After only one week and three downloading sessions to my MACBOOK Pro, the camera stopped working. It no longer turns on even after all the troubleshooting steps were taken and after talking to online support – no doubt not in this country. Have only owned the camera for one week and already it needs to be shipped back to Sony. Why it can’t be exchanged or why I can’t get my money back is unknown. DON’T BUY SONY!!!

I just bought HDR-CX150 for $499 from 6th Avenue and i can say this is one of the great purchase I have ever made.
First I have made the decision to go with SONY because I compared the results from Canon Vixia and SONY camcorders.
Then I shortlisted HDR-CX150, HDR-CX300, HDR-CX350V and HDR-CX550V because I personally don’t prefer hard drive based storage because there is moving parts in it (Selected models have built in flash memory).
Out of those, it was easy for me to choose HDR-CX150 because of its price range and 25x Carl Zeiss lens.
If you are looking for a video camcorder to shoot videos and photographs together this may not be a good choice because this will give you only 3.1mega pixel photos (I take 12 megapixel photos and used to crop the photographs but I have a separate camera for dong that). If you are shooting home videos, looking for value for money product and a compact camcorder…….. just go ahead and buy this…
