You may want to double check that price of 1049.95. It’s below dealer cost.

Thanks, alans. I just checked the press release again and that price is correct. Maybe you’re looking at dealer cost on the old version of this lens? Or maybe the price you’re looking at is not in US dollars?

Has anyone tested out this lens for portrait, fashion or runway work?

  • Jacques Grilli says:

I did test it for portrait see: http://gallery.me.com/jacquesgrilli/100194
I bought this lens yesterday – took it out of the box at the camera store and without any shooting experience with it I did a few testing shot at 1/15 f4 at various lens length, using my D700. The camera store, Lozeau in Montréal, was hosting a special day for photographer with a temporary studio, in a class room, and the availability of a female model.
I used the in camera flash on commander mode – ISO 200. The last photo, 7867, was shot at 1/15 f8. All shots were made handheld – did not use the VR.
