Nikon Coolpix L620 – Easy, Affordable Pocket Camera With 14x Optical Zoom

News Nikon Point and Shoot

Nikon announced an affordable new pocket superzoom camera last night. The Nikon Coolpix L620 has an 18-megapixel backlit CMOS sensor, 14x VR zoom lens, full HD video with stereo sound, and it uses easy to find AA batteries. With a zoom range that goes from 25mm wide to 350mm super-telephoto (35mm equivalent), the L620 is a great choice for people who want a truly compact camera that can do it all – especially travelers who want a camera they can keep in their pocket all the time.

The Coolpix L620 has a bunch of features that make it easy for inexperienced photographers, including Nikon’s Vibration Reduction (VR) optical image stabilization, Easy Auto Mode, scene modes and Face-Priority AF. It even has built-in photo retouching and filter effects.

I’m a big fan of pocket superzoom cameras like the Coolpix L620. I think they offer a great alternative to camera photos. No matter how good your camera phone is, I guarantee it can’t deliver the image quality or versatility of the L620’s larger sensor and 14x image-stabilized optical zoom lens. Plus, put an Eye-Fi SD card in it and you can wirelessly transfer photos and videos from the camera to your phone and share them from anywhere.

The Nikon Coolpix L620 will be available in red or black and should be in stock by the end of this month (August, 2013). The suggested retail price is US $249.95.

    Hi There,
I was wondering where do I purchase a Nikon L620??

    • Photo-John says:

It was just announced and won’t be available for a few weeks yet. But you should be able to buy it at pretty much any big box electronics store or camera dealer, once they ship. You might even be able to pre-order it from the big online camera dealers like B&H and Adorama.
