Fujifilm X-Pro1 Pricing AnnouncedFujifilm has announced pricing on what will probably be one of the most popular cameras of 2012, the X-Pro1. The Fujifilm X-Pro1 was announced a few weeks ago at the annual CES tradeshow in Las Vegas and the photography community is very excited about it. It’s a rangefinder-style digital camera with interchangeable lenses, an innovative hybrid viewfinder and Fujifilm’s unique new 16-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor. As cool as the X-Pro1’s rangefinder design is, I believe the new X-Trans sensor is actually the most exciting feature and will probably have the most lasting impact on digital camera technology. Image samples are starting to pop up on the Internet and people are very impressed.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 - Most Exciting Camera Of 2012?

The price for the Fujifilm X-Pro1 is pretty much right on target as far as Internet rumor and speculation goes. The suggested retail price for the camera body alone is US $1,699.95. The 18mm f/2.0 (27mm equiv.) and 35mm f/1.4 (53mm equiv.) lenses will both sell for $599.95 and the 60mm f/2.4 (90mm equiv.) will sell for $649.95. Fujifilm says the camera and lenses will be available at the end of this month – February, 2012.

‘probably be one of the most popular cameras of 2012′ Somehow I doubt it. Brilliant it may be, but at those prices???

You have a good point there, Footski. I guess I need to define my terms. I wasn’t thinking so much about how many would be sold – more about how much camera envy and talk there would be about the X-Pro1. Like the X100, it is expensive and the market is limited. But that didn’t stop the X100 from being one of the most discussed and lusted-after cameras kin 2011 :-)

  • I think the price is too high but looking at the camera and it is worth it.I absolutely recommended it!!!
