Carl Zeiss announced the launch of the fifth lens in the ZE series for EOS cameras. The Zeiss Distagon T* 2/28 ZE is a moderate wide angle lens designed for full-frame (D)SLR cameras, delivering a 74-degree field of view.

Today, Pentax has announced the new Pentax DA 15mm f/4 ED AL Limited ultra wide-angle lens for Pentax Digital SLRs.

This new compact and lightweight lens offers 23mm angle of view, giving it an ultra wide-angle perspective. Tamron has announced a new 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 wide-angle zoom lens for APS-C sensor digital SLR cameras. The Tamron SP AF10-24mm Di II lens has a 2.4x zoom range - the largest in the super-wide zoom range class. It will initially be available for Nikon and Canon digital SLRs with APS-C sensors like the Canon EOS XSi / 450D, recently announced Canon EOS 50D, Nikon D60, and upcoming Nikon D90. New Camera released. The RICOH G600
A compact, lightweight, water and dust-resistant, wide-angle, 5x zoom digital camera featuring enhanced shock resistance for outdoor use.

April 22, 2008, Tokyo – Ricoh Co., Ltd. (president and CEO: Shiro Kondo) has launched the G600, a new water and dust-resistant digital camera which will now be available along with the popular Caplio 500G Wide (launched in May 2006).

The G600 is smaller and lighter yet it still passes Ricoh‘s shock resistance test for a 1.5 m fall, a test that conforms to US Department of Defense standards. In addition to the 5x optical wide-angle zoom lens (equivalent to 28-140 mm for a 35 mm camera), the G600 continues to provide the same strong set of features as previous models, such as a 1 cm macro function and a flash range of 10 m.
