Fujifilm announced the new Remora Slave Flash Kit that is compatible with Fujifilm’s full range of digital compact cameras and underwater housings. The Remora Flash is not only suited to daytime diving, but its performance is also essential during night dives with a powerful guide number of 20. It also has an extra wide angle flash beam angle of 60 degrees so a bigger area can be illuminated underwater to meet the needs of both macro and wide-angle photography. The Remora Flash features manual light output range of 10% to 100%, so the amount of flash can be fine tuned to achieve a correct exposure for the perfect shot. It is depth rated to 55m/180 feet. I discovered Professor Kobre’s Lightscoop during the Holidays while I was putting together our Cheap Gifts for Photographers guide. It was suggested as a possible fit and when I looked it up on the Web I was impressed enough to include it in the guide. Basically, the Lightscoop allows cameras with pop-up flashes and hot shoe mounts to bounce the flash off the ceiling for better indoor portraits. It’s a really easy and inexpensive solution for the generally poor quality of direct flash lighting.

SanDisk Fills the Need for Large-Capacity, High-Performance Memory Cards

SanDisk announced its new 32GB Extreme III Compact Flash Memory Card, perfect for the recent release of Canon’s EOS 5D Mark II DSLR camera.
