Add Fujifilm’s new entry-level A150 to the growing list of sub-$150 digital cameras. The A150 is a 10-megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD display and movie mode - all at an MSRP of $129.95. If you came to me in 2001 and told me I would be able to buy a camera like this for under $200 in a few years, I would have laughed in your face. But there it is. Lots of people are suffering from clunky, chunky, and just plain crappy digital cameras. This camera (and others like it) is for them - it’s simple, small, and it’s going to blow away that camera they paid $400 for five years ago.

Canon EOS Rebel XS / 1000D Digital SLR Announcement
Today, Canon announced a new 10.1-megapixel entry-level digital SLR in Europe and Asia, the Canon EOS 1000D. So far I haven’t been able to find out if it will be introduced in the North America. The press release has not appeared on either Canon USA or the Canadian Canon Web site. However, other photography Web sites are also listing it as the “Canon EOS Rebel XS”, a Canon USA naming standard, implying that it will be available in the US, too.
