Sony announced two new digital cameras, the Sony Cybershot DSC-TX1 and Cybershot DSC-WX1.
The DSC-TX1 and DSC-WX1 are the first Cybershot digital cameras to use Sony’s new “Exmor R” back illuminated CMOS sensor technology. The “Exmor R” technology improves shooting in low-light scenarios, enhances image clarity and drastically reduces grain. These cameras also include the hand-held twilight and anti-motion blur multi-shot mode, Sony’s Sweep Panorama and 10 frames per second burst shooting features, Intelligent Auto, Face Detection, intelligent Scene, Pet mode, Smile Shutter technology, dynamic range optimization, and intelligent Auto Focus. Sony announced the Cybershot DSC-HX1 digital camera, its first digital camera to feature sweep panorama technology, which can take 224-degree panorama shots in one easy press-and-sweep motion. The DSC-HX1 is also the first Cybershot camera to use the exclusive 1/2.4-inch Exmor CMOS sensor technology, which allows burst speeds of 10 frames per second at full 9.1 megapixel resolution in continuous burst mode.

Sony introduced the Cybershot DSC-G3 digital camera, the world’s first Wi-Fi enabled digital camera that can upload photos and videos to the Web through any AT&T public hotspot, such as hotels, restaurants, coffee shops and airports, due to its built-in Web browser.
Sony announced the new Cybershot DSC-W220. This 12 megapixel camera features Intelligent Scene Recognition, Dynamic Range Optimizer, a 2.7-inch LCD screen, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 4X optical zoom lens with 30 millimeter (equivalent) wide angle view, Optical SteadyShot, and Smile Shutter. Images can be stored in the 15MB internal memory and an optional Memory Stick media card.
Sony has done a lot of market research about what people want from their digital cameras. They discovered that point-and-shoot photographers would like more powerful video functionality in their compact digital cameras. They want better quality and longer videos without having to go to a dedicated digital video camera. The new 10-megapixel Sony Cybershot DSC-T500 places the emphasis on video with 720p high definition video capture at 30 frames-per-second and stereo sound. It uses the MPEG4 AVC/H.264 compression codec for smaller file sizes and can record up to 10 minutes of continuous video. The T500 also has zooming capability while capturing video as well as a dual photo and video capture mode so you can capture still images while video is being recorded.
