Samsung has released a new high zoom digital camera, the Samsung WB550.
The Samsung WB550 features 12 megapixels, a 24mm ultra-wide angle Schneider lens, 10x optical zoom, high-definition video recording at a resolution of 720p, Optical and Digital Image Stabilization, a three-inch LCD screen, Smart Auto feature, Face Detection, Smile Shot, Blink Detection and Beauty Shot.
The camera will be showcased at PMA09 Digital Imaging Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nice camera with nice shape, it looks strong
I have bought one of these cameras, and so far I have been over the moon with it. I like the idea of the 10x optical zoom with the higher res sensor, the Panasonic TZ7 can zoom in closer but cannot resolve at the higher zoom. Better in my oppinion to zoom less but resolve higher. Camers is great, only annoyance is the manual focus, which I cannot figure out, but that will come.

I wanted to buy a camera for some time now, and I got mine from Futureshop. I have been waiting a while, and I can say, without a doubt, that this is by far the best point and shoot camera I have ever owned. The video recording is amazing, and the pictures are so crisp. I absolutely believe I made a great investment. Samsung congratulations on another amazing product!

I just got the WB550- Great camera. One problem, How do you prevent the motor sound when you zoom during video? When I playback a video I just took, all i can hear is that motor zoom sound. If there is a way to prevent that noise while you zoom during video, please tell me! Zoom during video is a feature that i need to have in my camera- without an annoying zooming sound!
