Olympus Firmware Update for 3 Zuiko Digital Lenses

April 16th, 2008 by aquadog

Olympus Lens Firmware Upgrade Announcement

Olympus Today Olympus announces a firmware update for the following three Zuiko Digital Lenses:

  • Zuiko Digital 28-84mm equivalent (ED 14-42mm Four Thirds) f3.5-f5.6 lens;
  • Zuiko Digital 80-300mm equivalent (ED 40-150mm Four Thirds) f4.0-f5.6 lens;
  • Zuiko Digital 50mm equivalent (ED 25mm Four Thirds) f2.8 lens.

This firmware update will improve the focusing precision of these lenses by using Imager AF in combination with the Panasonic (Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.) Lumix DMC-L10.

This update enables full compatibility for these lenses with the Lumix DMC-L10, so they can take advantage of the camera’s Imager Auto Focus mode and have full functionality with this Four Thirds standard Digital SLR.

The ability to update the firmware in E-System components; bodies, lenses, flash units; is one of the key advantages of a 100% digital design. Firmware updates are available through Olympus Master and Olympus Studio software applications.

The firmware can be updated through Olympus Master software.
