Macworld.com Loves PhotographyREVIEW.com!

Macworld.comWell, at least Macworld.com gave PhotographyREVIEW.com some love. To be more specific, Macworld loves our lens reviews. In an excellent article entitled, How To Buy A Camera Lens, Macworld staff writer Rick LePage, said the first site he visits to research lenses is PhotographyREVIEW.com. He then informs the reader that our lens review section “lists more than 900 lenses - 200-plus of which have been rated by five or more people.” Thanks for the attention (and the stats), Rick!

PhotographyREVIEW.com was launched in July of 1999, well before digital cameras were a viable option for serious photographers. User reviews are the foundation of the site and SLR lenses have been a part of those reviews since the beginning. And because lenses don’t change every six months like digital cameras do, we have a very healthy database of user reviews for SLR lenses. Some lenses, like the venerable Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D ED AF Zoom-Nikkor and the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, have well over 100 reviews and are just as popular now as when we were all shooting film. We even include out-of-production lenses in the reviews because lots of photographers still use them. Canon FD lenses, Minolta manual focus, Olympus OM, Contax-mount Zeiss lenses, and collectable Leica M rangefinder lenses all have a permanent home on PhotographyREVIEW.com.
