Looks like the waterproof digital camera segment is really starting to get hot. With Fujifilm in the game, that makes five manufacturers that are now making waterproof digital cameras - Olympus, Pentax, Ricoh, Panasonic, and Fujifilm. I’ve used the Olympus, Pentax, and the yet-to-be-released Panasonic. I love the Olympus Stylus SW cameras (now called “Tough”) for their shockproof build. But I’m really excited about the new Panasonic Lumix TS1 because it’s waterproof, shockproof and it has optical image stabilization. I think that would be my choice for my next waterpoof pocket digicam.

Maybe this will be your next review, Patia? I don’t know how soon we can get one. But I’d like to get you one. Are you willing to go for a swim for a review?

Absolutely, although it’ll have to be the pool at my gym. I’m not hitting the river until at least June!
