Fingerless Gloves
If your favorite photographer lives where it gets cold, then consider giving them some fingerless gloves. It doesn’t even have to be that cold for them to be valuable. If you’re out in the elements long enough, it doesn’t take much for hands to get cold. I have a pair of fingerless wool gloves with rubber grippy stuff on the palms so my camera won’t slip out of my hands. I keep them in my car so they’ll be there when I need them. For colder weather I’ve got a pair of convertible mittens. When I want to take pictures I just flip the mitten section off and my fingers are free to operate camera controls.
Sorry, we don’t have any merchant partners for gloves. I bought both pairs of my gloves at REI. You should be able to find similar items at your local outdoor store or online outdoor gear dealers. You might even be able to buy fingerless work gloves at your local hardware store.

Thanks to Sebastian for suggesting fingerless gloves for this guide.

This is a great idea John! Now I can just point my wife to this link for ideas while still keeping a tiny little bit of surprise in Christmas.
