Adobe has announced a new beta version of their popular Lightroom digital photography software. The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 beta is available for download on the Adobe Labs Web site. It’s a free, public beta, available to for anyone to download and use. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom was introduced a few years ago as a streamlined RAW photography workflow solution for professional photographers.

Breeze Systems has released a Mac OS X based software that controls Canon DSLR cameras, the DSLR Remote Pro for Mac 1.0. DSLR Remote Pro for Mac 1.0 can display live images on a Mac’s screen, autofocus and manually control focus from the computer, automatically take shots for focus stacking, and comprehensive time lapse control. The large preview image optionally displays flashing highlights to show over-exposed areas, grid overlay and crop marks to assist accurate alignment, black and white images and focus point overlay. Yesterday Adobe announced updates for their Photoshop Lightroom and Camera Raw software. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.5 and Camera Raw 5.5 are available for download now from the Adobe Web site. The updates include support for the Olympus E-P1 and Panasonic GF1 Micro Four Thirds cameras as well as the recently announced Nikon D300s and D3000 digital SLRs.
