Along with the new D300s and D3000 digital SLRs, Nikon is introducing updated versions of two of their most popular lenses, the 18-200mm VR and 70-200mm VR. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 ED VR II and AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II zoom lenses both feature Nikon’s most recent Vibration Reduction II optical image stabilization system. The new 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Nikkor also has significant optical improvements.

I first became aware of camera bag maker Shootsac, via photographers on Twitter. I got to see the bags for this first time at the annual PMA tradeshow, last week. They’re very simple, attractive and a really good idea for wedding and event photographers who need to keep critical lenses and a flash on their body while they’re working. Sigma Corporation announces a new superzoom lens

January 15, 2009 The Optically Stabilized (OS) lens sports a 13.8 times zoom ratio. Sigma’s new lens features a wide focal length range from 18mm to 250mm at F3.5-6.3 with a minimum aperture of F22. Equipped with a HSM (Hyper-Sonic Motor), a minimum focusing distance of less than a foot and a half at all focal lengths, and included petal type hood this is potentially an all around performer for the photographer with a wide range of needs who does not want to be changing their lens frequently.
