Canon announced two new printers for professional and advanced photographers, the Canon Pixma PRO9500 Mark II and Pixma PRO9000 Mark II.
The ten-color Canon Pixma PRO9500 Mark II printer features the Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) technology and a 7,680 nozzle print-head structure. It uses Canon’s double-encoder system to produce high-quality portfolio pieces or gallery-quality prints.
The eight-color Canon Pixma PRO9000 Mark II printer features Canon FINE print head technology and a 6,144-nozzle print head capable of producing nearly invisible ink droplets of two-picoliters. It delivers an even glossiness and vivid color experience rivaling that of positive film for photographers.
The Pixma PRO9500 Mark II and Pixma PRO9000 Mark II will be available in May for $849.99 and $499.99, respectively.

I require a printer for panoramas up to 14 inches wide by 36 inches long. The 9500 Mark II is very attractive exept for this unresolved question. Can it handle it?
