Along with the new D300s and D3000 digital SLRs, Nikon is introducing updated versions of two of their most popular lenses, the 18-200mm VR and 70-200mm VR. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 ED VR II and AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II zoom lenses both feature Nikon’s most recent Vibration Reduction II optical image stabilization system. The new 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Nikkor also has significant optical improvements.

Nikon announced a new entry-level digital SLR last night. The Nikon D3000 is a 10.2-megapixel DX sensor camera designed for first-time DSLR buyers. At just under $600, it’s a compelling option for budget-minded photographers who might otherwise not be able to afford a digital SLR. The D3000 also features a new Guide Mode designed to help beginners learn more about photography while they shoot.

After a few furious weeks of rumors on the Web, Nikon has finally made it public - the Nikon D300s is official. The new camera is basically a bored-out, ported and polished D300. It has the same body and 12.3-megapixel DX sensor as the D300 along with some a few new features and some nice performance enhancements. But most important - the D300s has 720p HD video capture with auto focus. Very nice.

As the name implies, the new system was created for photographers and multimedia pros who are shooting more than stills. The new 12.1-megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 point-and-shoot camera has an 8x wide-angle Leica zoom lens. The new lens is only 3mm thick, allowing them to cram an incredible 25-200mm (35mm equivalent) optical zoom range into a truly pocket-sized camera.
